About Pension Numbers
Pension Numbers explains UK pensions with the working shown. Every guide turns the official rules into real figures, and every calculator tells you exactly what it assumes.
Why this site exists
Pension rules in the UK change almost every year: the State Pension rises each April, the State Pension age is moving to 67, inheritance tax will apply to most pensions from April 2027, and the cash ISA limit is being cut. The official pages explain the rules, but rarely show what they mean for an ordinary set of numbers.
That is the gap we try to fill. Each guide answers one question, shows the calculation, and links to the GOV.UK or HMRC page it comes from, so you can check it yourself.
Who runs it
Pension Numbers is an independent website run by Tomás. He builds the calculators and writes the guides. He is not a financial adviser, and Pension Numbers is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
That is why the site sticks to explaining rules and showing worked examples. It never tells you what you personally should do with your money. For that, use free guidance from MoneyHelper and Pension Wise, or a regulated financial adviser.
What we cover

- ISAs, where they sit next to a pension.
We don't cover share tips, cryptocurrency, loans or individual products.
Independence
No pension provider, adviser or platform pays us to write about them or decides what we publish. See how we make money and how we check our numbers.
